Reclaimed Resawn or S4S Beams – Beams & Timbers Products
Reclaimed resawn beams are custom cut to desired sizes from a variety of species. These beams are a more refined reclaimed look which accentuate the tight grain of old growth timber while still showing features of checking and nail and bolt holes. These beams are offered in a resawn texture or planed smooth to S4S.

All beams are custom cut to desired sizes to meet project needs. Resawn texture or planing to S4S available.
Kiln Drying
We heat treat all beams to eradicate the potential of any bugs in Barn timbers only.

Like most specialty woods, reclaimed beams have their own brand of aesthetics. They can look rustic and vintage yet chic and elegant at the same time. Plus, each piece of reclaimed wood has a story and history that’s usually evident in the wood itself. Plus, it promotes the story of recycling and repurposing things making it all the more beautiful.
If you’re aiming for durability, you might think that reclaimed woods can’t hold a candle to new woods. Nothing is farther from the truth. Most reclaimed woods were felled decades or centuries ago. It was a time when our forests are still populated with century-old trees. Unlike modern lumber, these trees weren’t cultivated to grow rapidly. As a result, they have ten times more growth rings per inch. This means they are much denser and stable than modern woods.
With the right restoration methods, the woods can still last another 100 years and even then can still be restored.
Depending on what they were formerly used as and what they will be used for, each piece of reclaimed and resawn beams go through a specific reclamation process. They are de-nailed and power-washed. We also heat treat barn timbers to eradicate the potential of any bugs living within the wood.
All of our reclaimed and resawn beams are custom cut to your desired size. We make it a point to accentuate the tight grain of old-growth wood while still showing features of checking and nail and bolt holes. You’ll also have access to endless finishing options. By resawing these beams to a new size the tight grain and natural color of the wood is exposed and ready for a plethora of finish options.
